Who are SCRAN
SCRAN was set up in the summer of 2016 by a group of students at the University of Central Lancashire to provide nutrition and cooking related resources and support for students, both on campus and online.
SCRAN want to build a community platform that caters for the local people & educates them about the importance of sustainable eating. We are beginning to see the effects of climate change and over-population around the globe, so we need now more than ever to think about what we are eating and where our food comes from, and what each of us can do to decrease our carbon footprints during our everyday lives.
We offer people of all ages our expertise in healthy and sustainable eating, by providing free seasonal recipes, informative videos and cooking workshops. We also sell our own homemade food at the UCLan farmers market to raise the funds necessary to continue with our mission.
To facilitate our workshops SCRAN has a range of catering equipment such as; induction hobs, pots, pans and utensils. We will provide ingredients using sustainably sourced food, and wherever possible produce grown on the UCLan allotments. We also offer free healthy and sustainable recipes and cooking videos to help you get started on your sustainable journey.
We are proud to have received a 5-star Food Hygiene Rating from Environmental Health at Preston City Council.
